Main Idea

Teachers requested an interactive lesson that they could also open on their iPads. The lesson is comprised of both long and short passages followed by a drag and drop interaction to check for understanding.

This lesson takes students through short or long passages. They are able to pick their passage in the sidebar. After they read the passage, they take a short interactive quiz to check for understanding.

Teachers requested that they be able to choose short or long passages on the sidebar. The first page was for directions that could also be read aloud to them.

Some challenges that I had to overcome when writing the lesson was how the teachers wanted me to encourage students to navigate each passage. Together with the SME we decided that students should be able to navigate with the previous and next buttons after picking their passage type.

Additionally, the war on fonts, colors and clipart with teachers is usually neverending. They prefer lots of colors and lots of clipart.
